- er Verbs
Hello,
Today in class we began learning about the -er verbs. The -er verbs says what person is doing what. If you are talking about yourself you must always use yo. Know lets use the example of the word comer.
So you want to say that you are eating, you would say yo como, we drop the er ending and add the new ending that in this case it is the letter o.
Know lets say that you are talking to your best friend, when you are talking to someone very close, for both situations you would use the informal way of the subject pronoun tú. So you are talking to your friend and you want to say that you are eating you would say, tú comes. Here we see that we drop the er ending and add the es ending.
Ok, you are talking to your friend about someone else, if that person is a boy you will use él and if you are talking about a girl, you use the subject pronoun ella. Know you are going to say that he/ she is eating you would say Él/ ella come pizza.
You would also use come when you use the formal you which is usted. Usted come pizza. Like the other verbs, you drop the er and add the e
The next subject pronoun that we are going to learn is nosotros. You use nosotros when you include your self in the conversation. Nosotros comemos todos los días ensalada. You also must drop the er and add emos.
When we are talking about more then 1 person we use the plural form ellos ( male), ellas (female) and the formal you usted. For all three you just drop the -er and since you are talkng about eating you would say. Ellos, ellas comen en la ciudad. Know the form you: Ustede comen mucho pan.
